WILLIAMSBURG, VA. – The Towson University Men's Golf team played the third and final round of the Golden Horseshoe Intercollegiate on Tuesday. The Tigers shot 295 (+11) to jump up two spots to post an final score of 40-over par (892) and finish tied with Lafayette and Holy Cross for 8
th place overall.
Sky Aung equaled the fourth best third round of the tournament by shooting two-under par (69) which was also the best round by a Tiger in the tournament. Aung birdied four times in five holes and only hit two bogeys while finishing tied for 15th.
Mike Matheson finished tied for 34
th place after posting a round three score of 76 (+5) for a final score of 222 (+9). Matheson finished the round strong by birdieing two of his final six holes.
Ari Faana shot a 77 (+6) in the final round to end in 56
th place with an overall score of 228 (+15).
Jai Sheth made a five-stroke improvement from his first two rounds after posting a 73 in the final 18 holes highlighted by birdieing three holes in a five-hole stretch.
Matt Gonnello posted a score of 77 (+6) in Tuesday's round to finish tied for 68
th overall at 18-over par.
Adam Green, competing individually, finished in 47
th place with a score of 13-over par after posting a 77 (+6) in the final round.
