Harrisonburg, Va. - The Towson University track & field team completed the JMU Invitational on Saturday.
Field Events
In the hammer throw, freshman
MaKayla Pritchett earned a fifth-place finish with a personal best of 43.63m.
Freshman
Aleah Schwartz also set a personal record in the javelin, throwing 31.46m to place fourth overall.
In the discus throw, freshman
Danielle Foster recorded a personal best of 31.34m. She also posted a season-best in the shot put with a mark of 10.79m, followed by
Tatiyana Black, who achieved a season-best throw of 9.82m.
In the long jump,
Aniyah Toppin secured third place with a leap of 5.50m.
Kiara Murray placed fifth in the triple jump with a distance of 11.37m.
The Tigers' first gold medal of the day came from
Leeann Redlo, who claimed first place in the high jump with a mark of 1.72m.
Track Events
In the 4x100m relay, Towson's A-Team –
Qiora Rollins,
Maya Tucker,
Christal Pommells, and
Cristal Cuervo – secured a second-place finish and claimed the tenth spot on the program's all-time performance list. Towson's B-Team –
Nancy Hudson,
Aniyah Toppin,
Giselle Badoo, and
Stella Anani – finished fifth overall in the event.
In the 100m hurdles,
Leeann Redlo secured a spot on the podium in third place.
Cristal Cuervo claimed Towson's second gold of the day in the 400m with a time of 55.41.
Moments later,
Maya Tucker captured another gold for the Tigers, finishing first in the 100m with a time of 11.58.
In the 800m, sophomore
Baara Stewart brought home Towson's fourth gold medal of the day with a time of 2:13.73, while
Lexi Mogensen also earned a top 10 finish in the event.
Freshman Jillian O'Neil set a personal best in the 3000m, clocking in at 11:29.99.
Christal Pommells added a top 10 finish in the 200m.
In the 3000m steeplechase, freshman
Rebecca Farris posted a personal record of 12:32.42, improving on her previous time.

The Tigers are set for a split-meet weekend Apr. 18-19. Select athletes will travel to the Aggie Classic Meet in Greensboro, North Carolina hosted by North Carolina A&T. The remaining Tigers will stay local for the Morgan State Legacy Meet, taking place at Morgan State University.
