TOWSON, Md. - The Towson University track & field team split up on Saturday to compete in two meets. A select roster traveled south to the South Florida Invitational, hosted by the University of South Florida while others traveled to Rutgers University for the Rutgers Relays. The Black & Gold tallied thirteen new all-time marks, supported by another updated program record from junior
Baara Stewart.
Rutgers Relays – Field Events
Freshman
Brunell Owusu placed first in the pole vault with a mark of 3.88m, which ranks second all-time. Sophomore
Ashley Umhoefer placed fourth at 3.38m to rank eighth all-time.
Freshman
Addison Inge placed fifth overall in the high jump with a 1.65m leap.
Sierra Swangin recorded the same mark, placing sixth overall.
Rutgers Relays – Track Events
In the 800m, senior
Layla James recorded a personal-best 2:13.22 in the 800m to rank fifth all-time.
Sophomore
Deschanique Douglas ran a season-best 1:05.29 in the 400m hurdles to place sixth.
Jasmine Scott additionally ran a season-best time in the 200m, clocking 25.24.
Freshman
Anna Amato placed tenth in the 1500m with a time of 4:49.46.
USF Invite – Field Events
Junior
Olamide Enajekpo placed fifth in the hammer throw with a 52.14m mark.
In the high jump, senior
Leeann Redlo improved her second all-time mark after clearing 1.78m.
Senior
Kiara Murray recorded a 12.35m mark in the triple jump to place fifth and rank third all-time.
USF Invite – Track Events
In the 4x100m, the combined relay team of
Kadidja Ouattara,
Bianca Durant,
Princess Asante and
Brianna Easley clocked 44.84 to place second overall and second all-time.
Freshman
Mydison Britton posted a time of 55.49 in the 400m to enter the all-time list in the event at fifth.
Kadidja Ouattara (11.81) and
Princess Asante (11.85) both recorded improved times in the 100m to rank sixth and eighth all-time, respectively.
In the 800m, junior
Baara Stewart reset the program record in the event for the second time this season with a personal-best time of 2:04.96.
In the 200m, Easley recorded another personal-best time (23.97) to rank fourth all-time. Ouattara clocked 24.07 to rank fifth all-time.
In the 4x400m,
Qiora Rollins,
Mydison Britton,
Jaylynn Dorsey and Stewart clocked 3:41.73 to place third overall at the meet and rank second all-time.
