STATE COLLEGE, Pa – The Towson University Men's Golf team played the final round of the Rutherford Invitational hosted by Penn State on the Penn State Blue Course. The Tigers shot 294 (+10) to end the tournament in eighth place at 29-over par (881).
Jai Sheth shot under par in a round for the second time during the tournament posting a 70 (-1) over the final 18 holes to finish one-over par overall and tied for eighth individually. Sheth, who earned his first top ten finish of his career, eagled the 5
th hole during round three and was the only Tiger with multiple birdies in every round.
Mike Matheson also shot a 70 (-1) in the third round to jump ten spots and tie for 14
th at three-over par and led Towson with five birdies on day two. This marks the first tournament since the Howard/USF Intercollegiate on Sept. 9-10 where two Towson golfers finished in the top 15 individually.
Sky Aung became the third Tiger to eagle during the tournament doing so on the nineth hole. Aung shot 78 (+7) in the final round to end the tournament tied for 37
th at ten-over par.
Ariihau Faana shot 76 in round three to finish the tournament 16-over par and tie for 56
th as an individual.
Adam Green posted an 81 (+10) on day two to place 62
nd at 20-over par.
