IJAMSVILLE, Md. – The Towson University Men's Golf team played the first two rounds of the inaugural Testudo Cup hosted by the University of Maryland at P.B. Dye Golf Club. The Tigers hit 299 (+11) in the first round before making a ten-stroke improvement to post a 289 (+1) in round two to finish twelve-over par and sit in tenth place after day one.
Sky Aung leads the way for Towson after two rounds. Aung is tied for 3
rd place individually with an overall score of four-under par after shooting 73 (+1) in round one before equaling the best round of the tournament so far with a career best round of 67 (-5) in the second round. Aung birdied nine holes and shot an eagle in round two.
Ari Faana is also currently in the top 25 after day one. Faana shot a 75 (+3) in the first round before posting a 71 (-1) in round two to close out the day tied for 22
nd at two-over par. The sophomore leads the Tigers with ten birdies through the first 36 holes.
Mike Matheson shot a 75 (+3) in each of the first two rounds to be tied for 45
th at six-over par after day one.
Jai Sheth posted a 76 (+4) in both rounds on day one to finish the first 36 holes eight-over par and tied for 56
th place. Matt Gonnello shot 79 (+7) in round one and round two to end the first day tied for 69
th at fourteen-over par.
