TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University men's lacrosse team will break from league play with a Tuesday night matchup against Baltimore rival Loyola on April 8 at 6 p.m. at Unitas.

Towson has won four straight games, coming off a 12-10 victory at Monmouth on Saturday, to be 5-5 overall and 4-0 in the CAA. Loyola notched a 12-11 overtime victory at Bucknell on Saturday to stand 1-9 overall and 1-4 in the Patriot League.
Towson and Loyola have played at least once in all but one year since 1959, with 1980 being the lone exception. Loyola leads the all-time series 36-31, winning 11-10 in overtime on Feb. 27, 2024 in Baltimore for a second-straight overtime victory over the Tigers. Towson's last victory in the series came on Mar. 2, 2022, a 11-8 win at Loyola.
WEISSHAAR - USA LACROSSE PRESEASON MIDFIELDER OF THE YEAR
Mikey Weisshaar was honored as the USA Lacrosse Preseason Midfielder of the Year. He adds this honor along with being named a Preseason First Team All-American by each USA Lacrosse and
Inside Lacrosse.
The junior midfielder was Towson's leading goal-scorer last year with 42, adding 19 assists. He earned at least a hat trick in eight games in 2024.
In late March, Weisshaar was selected as an Inside Lacrosse Media Midseason Second Team All-American, his second straight year receiving that honor.
15 STRAIGHT CAA REGULAR SEASON WINS
Towson has been dominant in league play, winning the last 15 regular season CAA games dating back to the 2023 season. This includes a 7-0 undefeated run in 2024.

With one of the most dominant performances in league history, Towson won its ninth CAA Tournament title to earn a spot into the NCAA Tournament in 2024.

Mikey Weisshaar USA Lacrosse Men's DI Player of the Week on Mar. 18.
His sixth goal was the game-winner in overtime vs. the Blue Hens. He also earned USILA DI Team of the Week and CAA Co-Offensive Player of the Week.
ROLLIN' ROLLIN' RONAN
Ronan Fitzpatrick, who played just one game last season, stands as Towson's second-leading goal-scorer in the season with 26, adding four assists.
He is already a three-time CAA Rookie of the Week, including after scoring six goals, including the game-tying goal with 29 seconds left in regulation, in the victory vs. Delaware.
MATT CONSTANTINIDES - TOWSON ALL-TIME FACEOFF WINS LEADER
Towson's primary faceoff man all four years with Towson, senior
Matt Constantinides is the program's all-time faceoff wins leader with 639 faceoff wins. This includes two seasons with at least 200 faceoff victories: 207 in 2023 and 205 in 2024.
Constantinides surpassed Alex Woodall, who had 583 wins from 2017-19, with his 11th faceoff win at Navy on Feb. 16, 2025.
He is also second in Towson history in ground balls, currently standing with 330. Woodall is the Towson all-time leader in ground balls with 351.
CARL RUNK (1936-2024)
Legendary Towson men's lacrosse head coach Carl Runk passed away on Nov. 24, 2024 at the age of 88.
The leader of Towson men's lacrosse for 31 years from 1962-1992, he led the Tigers to 262 victories, the 1974 NCAA Division II National Championship and the 1991 Division I national title game.
He is a member of several Halls of Fame: the Towson Athletics Hall of Fame (2007), the University of Arizona Men's Lacrosse Hall of Fame (2019), the Intercollegiate Men's Lacrosse Coaches Association Hall of Fame (2018 and the Maryland State Athletic Hall of Fame (2022).

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT:
Loyola, earning its first win on Saturday, has played five one-goal games this season.
Junior attack Matthew Minicus has nearly half the team's assists, being the team leader in points with 33, assists with 20 and goals with 13. Classmate Henry Haberman has tallied up 12 goals and six assists.
Baltimore native junior Max Watkinson has started all 10 games in goal, saving 56.1% and having an 11.08 goals allowed average. Another Baltimore native, senior close defenseman Remi Reynolds, is the team leader in caused turnovers with 18, adding 37 ground balls and two goals.
At the faceoff-X is sophomore Carson Hall, who has won 48.1% with 38 ground balls.

NADELEN NAMED HEAD COACH OF U20 MEN'S NATIONAL TEAM
Towson head coach
Shawn Nadelen has been selected as the head coach of the United States Men's U20 National Team. Nadelen will prepare the U.S. U20 Team for the upcoming 2025 World Lacrosse Men's U20 Championship in South Korea.
He was part of the U.S. Senior National Team which won the gold medal in the 2010 FIL World Lacrosse Championships in England with a 12-10 victory over Canada in the title game.
Nadelen becomes the second Towson men's lacrosse head coach to lead one of the U.S. National Teams. Tony Seaman, Towson head coach from 1999 to 2011, was the head coach of the U.S. Men's Senior National Team for the 1994 World Lacrosse Championship.
TV TIME
Four Towson home games will be on Monumental Sports Network this season. The home of the Washington Capitals, Mystics and Wizards, Monumental Sports Network is based out of Bethesda and is aired across the DMV, spanning from Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Virginia and North Carolina.
