TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University men's golf team has released the fall schedule for the 2025-26 season, head coach
Mike Larkin announced.
The Tigers best finish during the 2024-25 season was a seventh-place effort in the USF Tournament where Towson also put up its best team score of the season. Rising juniors
Sky Aung and
Ariihau Faana led the way for Towson as the only two players to play all 27 rounds of golf last season as well as having the two lowest averages with Aung at 74.41 and Faana at 74.56.
Michael Matheson completes the Tigers top three after averaging 74.96 in 24 rounds his sophomore season.
Jai Sheth,
Adam Green,
Poon Nantsupawat, and
Matthew Gonnello are all returners who played at least 12 rounds last season.
"This feels like a big year for us," coach Larkin stated. "The last few years we've had a really young team. With those guys all being veterans now, it's time to step up and start playing some great golf and it feels like we're in a great position to do that. A lot of our upperclassmen have been playing great golf this summer, so we're looking to head into the fall season with some momentum. We've got a great lineup of courses this fall. There will be some familiarity being back at Nemacolin (WVU) and Echo Lake (Georgetown), but the two new events on our schedule are also at phenomenal venues in Metropolis (Columbia) and Sunnehanna (St. Francis). We have a lot of opportunities in front of us and I'm looking forward to getting back to work with everyone when we are back on campus at the end of August."
Towson heads north to start off the season in the Metropolis Intercollegiate hosted by Columbia University at the Metropolis Country Club in White Plains, N.Y. Rounds one and two will be played Monday, September 8 followed by round three on Tuesday, September 9.
The Tigers then will return to the Nemacolin Collegiate Invitational hosted by West Virginia at Mystic Rock at Nemacolin for the second consecutive season. The two-day tournament runs from September 29-30.
The next week Towson heads right back to Pennsylvania to play in the Red Flash Invitational hosted by Saint Francis University at Sunnehanna Country Club in Johnstown, Pa. on Monday, October 6 and Tuesday, October 7.
A third straight week of gold concludes the fall slate as the Tigers travel to Echo Lake Country Club in Westfield, N.J. to play in the Georgetown Intercollegiate hosted by Georgetown University on Monday, October 13 and Tuesday, October 14.
