WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. - The Towson University men's golf team wrapped up the first two rounds of the Metropolis Intercollegiate on Monday, hosted by Columbia University. The Tigers sit in 11th place with a two-round total of 599 (+39) after posting a 297 (+17) in the opening round and a 302 (+22) in the second.
Siena leads the field with a two-round score of 573 (+13), followed closely by North Dakota State in second with a score of 574 (+14). Richmond rounds out the top three with a score of 579 (+19).
Michael Matheson leads the Tigers on the field tied for 7th place after posting the team's best round of the day at an even-par 70 in the opening round, followed by a second-round score of 73 (+3). Matheson also leads Towson with seven birdies through the first two rounds of play.
Ariihau Faana currently sits tied for 43rd place after posting rounds of 77 (+7) followed by an improved second-round score of 74 (+4), highlighted by two birdies.
Jai Sheth follows behind in a tie for 48th place after recording rounds of 73 (+3) and 79 (+9).
Matthew Gonnello is tied for 58th place after shooting 77 (+7) in both rounds.
Adam Green rounds out the Towson's lineup in a tie for 62nd place after posting 77 (+8) and 78 (+8). The sophomore additionally tallied four birdies across both rounds of play.
