Fueled by transformational gifts and broad community support, the Tiger Athletic Fund (TAF) closed Fiscal Year 2025 (July 1, 2024 – June 30, 2025) with
$3.7 million raised from nearly
2,300 donors, directly enhancing the experience of more than
500 student-athletes across 19 sport programs. This total marks the
second-highest fundraising year in Towson Athletics history.
"This year's results reflect the incredible generosity and the passion of a community that has been inspired by our vision for the future and Dr. Ginsberg's support of Tiger Athletics," said
Steve Eigenbrot, Vice President of Athletics.
"Our student-athletes feel the impact of every gift and we are grateful for the alumni, parents, and fans who are helping us position Towson Athletics for sustained excellence."
A major driver of this success was the launch of the
Campaign for Excellence in November — a $12 million fundraising initiative supporting $38 million in capital improvements to the Field House and Towson Center on South Campus. In its first year, the campaign generated
$3.2 million, including
two seven-figure gifts, two six-figure gifts, and several five-figure contributions.
"For the first time since I have been at Towson, we have an inspirational story to tell regardless of what motivates a donor. As we work to fund $40M in capital projects, support Towson in the new era of college athletics through the Student-Athlete Resource Fund or honor a Towson legend in Coach Runk, as we plan to pay tribute to him within the renovated fieldhouse, this is the time to jump on board and make an impact," added Eigenbrot.
Momentum carried into April during Towson University's annual
TU Big Give, a 24-hour celebration of philanthropy. TAF raised
$727,000 in a single day — bolstered by a
$500,000 commitment to the Campaign for Excellence made late in the day to inspire additional giving.
Another notable achievement came from within the Towson Athletics family:
nearly half of all current student-athlete families made a gift to their child's team or the department. Engaging these families was a strategic focus for the TAF team, and the results exceeded expectations.
"Every donor — no matter the size of their gift — is building the foundation for our future," said
Meredith Crawford, Senior Director of Athletics Development.
"When we come together with a shared purpose, we can achieve remarkable things for our student-athletes both on and off the field."
Towson Athletics extends its sincere gratitude to
fans, alumni, parents, students, staff, and community members who stepped up in support of its mission — providing the resources student-athletes need to compete at the highest level, excel academically, and thrive in life after graduation.
