FARMINGTON, Pa. - The Towson University men's golf team wrapped up day one of the Nemacolin Collegiate Invitational on Monday, hosted by West Virginia University. The Tigers completed both rounds and currently stand in 18th place with a total score of 601 (+25) after posting rounds of 304 (+16) and 297 (+9).
Play was suspended due to darkness with four teams still needing to finish their second round. As it stands, host West Virginia leads the field at 555 (-21), followed by James Madison in second at 537 (-17) and Seton Hall in third at 561 (-15).
Sky Aung leads the Tigers on the field tied for 48th place after shooting 73 (+1) and 74 (+2) on the first day of tournament play.
Jai Sheth is tied for 68th place, posting rounds of 76 (+4) and 74 (+2) on the first day. Across both rounds, Sheth birdied five holes.
Michael Matheson is tied for 76th after carding an opening-round 80 (+8) before bouncing back with an even-par 72 in round two. He totaled six birdies across the day.
Ariihau Faana sits tied for 81st with rounds of 75 (+3) and 78 (+6). He recorded three birdies in the opening round and added an eagle on a par-5 during round two.
Poon Nantsupawat rounds out Towson's efforts on the first day, tied for 95th after posting rounds of 81 (+9) and 77 (+5).
