TOWSON, Md. - The Towson University women's lacrosse team has announced its team captains for the upcoming 2026 season.
Senior midfielder Valerie Thompson, graduate attack Elise Smigiel, graduate defender Cameron Levine and senior midfielder Ocea Leavy have been named team captains for the 2026 season.
Thompson made an appearance in all 16 games last season. The senior tied for second on the team with 30 goals over the course of the season. Thompson also totaled nine assists, 21 ground balls, 42 draw controls and 10 caused turnovers.
Smigiel joins the Tigers as a transfer from Penn State, where she made five appearances during her sophomore season, including an appearance in the NCAA Tournament. Prior to Penn State, Smigiel competed at Marquette, appearing in 17 games while totaling 23 goals, three assists and 26 points.
Levine appeared in 14 games last season, starting 13 contests. The graduate defender ranked third on the team in caused turnovers (15) and ground balls (27), while also collecting four ground balls.
Leavy started all 16 games last season, totaling 21 goals, six assists, 17 ground balls and three caused turnovers. The senior midfielder found the back of the net in each of Towson's first five games. In August 2025, Leavy was named to Team Australia for the World Games.
