Grace Franczyk and
Briyana Wright have earned Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) preseason honors, the CAA announced Tuesday. Franczyk has been named to the Preseason All-CAA Team as a catcher while Wright has received CAA Preseason Honorable Mention distinction.
Grace Franczyk started 48 games for the Tigers as a catcher and designated player in 2025 and batted a team-high .375 with a .991 OPS in 144 at-bats. The senior racked up 54 hits with ten doubles, three triples, and three homeruns with 40 RBIs and 23 runs scored. Franczyk was one of three CAA sluggers to accumulate at least 50 hits and 40 RBIs last season and was named to the All-CAA Second Team for her efforts. She was also fourth in the conference in total RBIs and had a Towson best 16-game hitting streak.
Briyana Wright made 46 starts at third base during her debut season for the Tigers and in 146 at-bats hit .281 with an .889 OPS. Wright ended the year with 41 hits, ten doubles, four triples, and five homeruns with 23 RBIs and 37 runs scored. Wright was in the top four on the Tigers in hits, doubles, triples and homeruns while leading the team in runs scored.
With the new CAA Softball conference divisions now in place, the Tigers were picked to finish third in the North Division in the CAA Preseason Coaches Poll receiving ten points. Stony Brook was picked to finish first in the division with 14 points and three first place votes followed by Hofstra with 14 points and two first place votes. Towson was picked ahead of Monmouth (eight points) and Drexel (four points). Elon was voted first in the South Division.
Towson's season begins February 6 when the Tigers travel to Spartanburg, S.C. for the Founders Classic hosted by USC Upstate.
