STATE COLLEGE, Pa. - The Towson University track & field team wrapped up day one of the Penn State National on Friday, highlighted by five new all-time performances and another historic showing from junior Baara Stewart, who reset a nearly four-decade-old program record in the 800m.
Field Events
Senior Leeann Redlo improved her own all-time mark in the pentathlon with a total score of 3,758 points. The performance ranks second all-time in program history.
Track Events
In the 60m prelims, freshman Kadidja Ouattara posted a personal-best time of 7.65, finishing 18th in a competitive field of 61 runners. Her mark ranks ninth all-time for the Tigers.
Stewart added another school record to her standout campaign, clocking a 2:10.08 in the 800m to break the previous program mark of 2:12.51 set by Maureen Shaneman in 1988. Just last weekend, Stewart also reset Shaneman's long-standing 1000m record.
In the 400m, sophomore Qiora Rollins led Towson with a third-place finish, crossing the line in 55.23 to rank fourth all-time in program history. Freshman Mydison Britton also recorded an all-time performance, posting a 56.92 to rank ninth all-time.
