LYNCHBURG, Va. - The Towson University track & field team wrapped up its first day of competition at the Darius Dixon Memorial Invitational on Friday. The Tigers posted four new all-time marks and four personal bests, highlighted by an updated program record from junior Baara Stewart.
Field Events
Senior Kiara Murray recorded a personal-best leap of 5.70m in the long jump to finish second overall and move into sixth on Towson's all-time list.
In the pole vault, sophomore Ashley Umhoefer cleared 3.50m, tying for seventh all-time in program history.
Track Events
In the 60m prelims, Qiora Rollins ran a personal-best 7.75.
Senior Leeann Redlo qualified for the semifinals in the 60m hurdles after clocking 8.72 in prelims. Redlo improved to 8.61 in the semifinals, setting a new personal best and tying for fourth all-time in the event.
Jasmine Scott posted a season-best 57.87 in the 400m.
In the 800m, Stewart continued her standout campaign by resetting her own program record for the second time in two weeks. The junior improved her personal best from 2:10.08 to 2:09.67, placing second overall at the meet.
