WASHINGTON – The Towson University gymnastics team earned a 195.900, its highest team score of the season, to earn a quad-meet victory at George Washington on Sunday afternoon, also defeating Eastern Michigan and Fisk.
Towson earned the top score in three events, highlighted by tying a season-best 49.225 on floor and 49.125 on vault, also earning a 48.775 on bars. Individually, Towson either finished first or tied for first in three events.
Isabella Minervini finished first on bars with tying a season-high 9.950 and tying for first on the floor 9.900, also being second in the all-around at 39.125, while
Jocelyn Lannon stood alone in the vault at 9.875.
Towson finished ahead of visiting Eastern Michigan at 195.225, host GW at 194.825 and Fisk at 189.800.
How it Happened for Towson (in Rotation Order)
- Bars (rotation one) – 48.775
- Towson got its meet started with a couple of 9.7+ scores, led by leadoff gymnast Hayden Gough earning a 9.775.
- Needing to recover from a fall, Towson got rid of that score with its final two performances. Lauren Greene had a 9.725, then Isabella Minervini earned a 9.950, the highest score of any performance at the meet.
- Beam (rotation two) – 48.775
- Towson again had a pair of 9.7+ scores in the opening half of the routines, led by Natalie Lindgren with a 9.775 on third spot.
- Towson finished strong with two 9.8+ spots. Celia Trotter earned a 9.825 on the third place, followed by Brissa Portillo anchoring with a 9.800.
- Floor (rotation three) – 49.225
- Vault (rotation four) – 49.125
