TOWSON, Md. – Towson softball sophomore
Olivia Trombley has been named the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) Pitcher of the Week, the CAA announced Tuesday. This is Trombley's first weekly honor of her career and the first weekly award won by Towson since
Faith McCullough was named CAA Rookie of the Week on March 19, 2024.
Olivia Trombley pitched a gem when Towson took on East Carolina at the Pirate Clash on Friday. The Parker, Colorado native threw every pitch of the Tiger's extra inning victory taking a no-hitter into extra innings. After the first Pirate hitter of the game reached on an error, Trombley retired 18 consecutive batters before a 7
th inning walk ended the streak. Trombley finally allowed her first hit of the game in the 8
th inning but rallied to close out the 2-0 win from there and complete an eighth-inning one-hit shutout. She also collected a season high five strikeouts while only walking one.
Towson is now set for its home opener on Thursday at 2 p.m. when the Tigers will kick off the DeMarini Tiger Clash against crosstown rivals Morgan State.
