TOWSON, Md. – The best meet of the year for the Towson University gymnastics team has led to three student-athletes being honored in the East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) weekly awards, announced by the league on Wednesday.
Isabella Minervini repeats as the EAGL Co-Gymnast of the Week and
Jocelyn Lannon repeats as the EAGL Rookie Specialist of the Week.
Isabella DeCroo becomes the EAGL Specialist of the Week.
The trio helped Towson earn a 195.900 team score in a quad-meet victory on Sunday in D.C. as the Tigers defeated George Washington, Eastern Michigan and Fisk.
Minervini is an EAGL Gymnast of the Week for the fourth time this season. The senior from Fleming Island, Florida earned the top finish in the bars at 9.950, a mark tied for third in Towson history, and tied for the top mark on floor at 9.900, tied for 10
th in program history. She also finished second in the all-around at 39.125 and on the vault at 9.850.
DeCroo earns her first weekly award of the season. The senior from Warrenton, Virginia earned a new career-high on floor with a 9.875, finishing third in that event, and tying for fourth on vault with a 9.800.
Lannon earns her second straight EAGL Rookie Specialist of the Week award. The Sutton, Massachusetts freshman won the vault with a career-high 9.875 score and competed on the floor rotation for the first time this season, notching a 9.775.
The Tigers head to Pittsburgh on Friday, Feb. 27 to compete in a quad-meet. They take on Pittsburgh, Ball State and Temple.
