TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University men's and women's swimming and diving teams competed in day two of the 2026 Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) Championships on Thursday. Towson claimed six more podium placements on day two headlined by golds from
Shannon Parrau and
Christian Davidson bringing the Tigers total medal count to twelve. Entering day three, the Tigers are in second place in the men's standings and third in the women's.
500 Freestyle:
- Day two began with silver for the Tigers as Addie Scott was the lone Towson women to earn a spot in the championship heat and went on to place second with a time of 4:48.38.
- On the men's side, three Tigers qualified for the championship heat headlined by Christian Davidson who would go on to swim a Towson Record time of 4:21.03 to claim gold in the event.
- Stephen McDonald made up nearly two seconds in the final 50 meters to grab second (4:23.23) and secure the top two spots on the podium for Towson. Zach Rothman was the final Tiger in the championship race and placed eighth (4:27.85).
200 IM:
- Jed Garner was the lone Tiger to advance to a 200 IM championship heat. He would swim a time of 1:45.08 to secure a silver medal in the men's final.
50 Freestyle:
- Bjartey Gudmundsdottir earned a spot in the women's championship final where she placed fifth with a time of 22.88.
- Isak Brkanovic earned a championship berth in his CAA's debut, the freshman would also place fifth in the finals with a time of 19.89.
Women's 3 Meter Dive:
- After seeing silver on both boards last season, Shannon Parrau began her 2026 CAA's with a gold medal after scoring 295.85.
- Lara Booth Alam and Liliana Bermudez also earned spots in the championship finals. Booth Alam took fourth with a score of 256.00 with Bermudez tying for fifth at 244.05.
400 Medley Relay:
- The Towson women closed out day two with a fourth-place relay finish at 3:45.33.
- The Tiger men earned the final day two medal for Towson with a silver medal and Towson record finish at 3:08.74.
