Costello Announces the Hirings of Jamie Baker and Brianna Perry

TOWSON, Md. – Towson University softball head coach Lisa Costello has announced the additions of Jamie Baker and Brianna Perry to her coaching staff on Thursday. Baker will serve as the teams pitching coach while Perry will be an assistant coach.

Jamie Baker comes to Towson after serving as the Head Coach of Durham University softball in Oshawa, Ontario Canada. He led the Lords to an Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) Championship in his first season in charge and another in 2024 when he also coached Durham to its first ever Canadian Collegiate Softball Association (CCSA) National Championship. In his time with the Lords, six Durham pitchers were named OCAA All-Stars and/or OCAA Championship All-Stars including Ashley Black who was a four-time conference All-Star and one-time OCAA Pitcher of the Year.

Baker began his coaching career in 2013 as a volunteer for Durham College where he graduated from with a Sports Administration Diploma. In 2014 Baker was named the teams pitching coach. As an assistant coach, he helped lead the Lords to four consecutive OCAA championships between 2015-18.

Baker has also coached club softball at the U19 and U17 levels sense 2021 and has served as an assistant coach on the Team Canada Junior Women's National Team since 2023. He also had an 18-year career as a fast pitch softball player where he won multiple Ontario Championships and two silver medals and two bronze medals at the national level.
 
Brianna Perry joins Towson from The Park School of Baltimore where she has served as an assistant varsity softball coach since 2023. Prior to her three seasons with the Bruins, Perry was the Junior Varsity softball coach for James River High School in Midlothian, Virginia in 2016. Perry attended North Carolina Central University where she walked on to the softball team and went on to earn a bachelor's degree of science in criminal justice.
