BALTIMORE – After the first game of the year was canceled, the No. 17 Towson University men's lacrosse team now starts the 2026 campaign against rival No. 16/15 Johns Hopkins in Baltimore on Tuesday, Feb. 10 at 4 p.m.
After Week 1, Towson stands at #17 in each the USILA Coaches Poll and the
Inside Lacrosse Media Poll. Johns Hopkins is at #16 and #15 in each poll.
The game will be broadcast live on ESPNU, with Mike Corey and Quint Kessenich on the call live from Homewood Field. In addition,
Spiro Morekas and Glenn Smith will have the radio call on Towsontigers.com.
Towson earned its way into the 2025 NCAA Tournament as the CAA Tournament champion, finishing last year at 11-6 overall and 7-0 in the CAA. Johns Hopkins, which opened the year with a 17-2 home win over Robert Morris on Feb. 2, being 6-8 overall and 0-5 in the Big Ten last season.
All-time, the Blue Jays lead the series 45-6, including holding off a final shot attempt by Towson in an 11-10 win at Unitas on Feb. 4, 2025 for the fourth straight victory against the Tigers. Towson's last win in the series came in a 17-8 victory at home on Feb. 9, 2019. Johns Hopkins is the alma mater of Towson head coach

TOWSON - BACK-TO-BACK CAA CHAMPIONS
Towson enters 2026 as the two-time reigning CAA champion, including two undefeated regular seasons and wins in the CAA Tournament, leading to a pair of NCAA Tournament appearances.
Towson has won 10 CAA championships, all coming since 2003. Its back-to-back titles are the first for Towson since winning three straight from 2015-17.
Towson's 10 conference tournament titles, since the establishment of men's lacrosse as a sport in the CAA, are the most in the league. Second is Delaware, which won five before leaving the league in 2025.
18 STRAIGHT CAA REGULAR SEASON WINS
Towson has been dominant in league play, winning the last 18 regular season CAA games dating back to the 2023 season. This includes 7-0 undefeated CAA regular season records in each 2024 and 2025. It is the longest consecutive conference win streak in program history and the longest currently in Division I.

Towson is the only preseason ranked CAA team in the top-20. The Tigers are set to play three teams ranked in the top-20 during non-conference play: North Carolina, Johns Hopkins and Virginia.

USA Lacrosse Magazine Preseason All-American Second Team, the second straight year the publications have honored him as a preseason All-American.
The reigning CAA Offensive Player of the Year was the league leader in goals and points per game, earning 48 goals and 24 assists for 72 points, averaging 4.5 points per game. Starting 16 games at attack, he also tallied 40 ground balls and 15 caused turnovers.

The team returns its top two scorers from last season, led by
Inside Lacrosse Preseason All-American senior midfielder Matt Collison, who had 21 goals and 12 assists last year. Junior attack Hunter Chauvette had 23 goals and eight assists in 2025. These two combined for 11 games vs. Robert Morris.
True freshman Dash Lamitie got the first start in goal for the Blue Jays this year, saving four shots and allowing two goals in the first 45 minutes. Two
Inside Lacrosse Preseason All-Americans play on defense: junior defenseman Quintan Kilrain had 28 ground balls and 11 caused turnovers last year while sophomore SSDM Reece DiCicco finished last year with 14 ground balls and 10 caused turnovers.
Sophomore Joe Hobot is now the primary faceoff man, winning 11-of-13 in the first game.

NADELEN NAMED HEAD COACH OF U20 MEN'S NATIONAL TEAM
Towson head coach
Shawn Nadelen was selected as the head coach of the United States Men's U20 National Team. Nadelen coached the U.S. U20 Team to a silver medal finish in 2025 World Lacrosse Men's U20 Championship in South Korea this past summer. Towson assistant coach
Andy Shilling also served in the same role for the U.S. U20 Team.
Nadelen is the second Towson men's lacrosse head coach to lead one of the U.S. National Teams. Tony Seaman, Towson head coach from 1999 to 2011, was the head coach of the U.S. Men's Senior National Team for the 1994 World Lacrosse Championship.
