TOWSON, Md. – The strong offensive performance for Towson University men's lacrosse earned two Tigers Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) weekly awards, announced by the league on Monday.
 
Joaquin Villagomez is the CAA Co-Offensive Player of the Week while Will Schoonmaker is the CAA Rookie of the Week.
 
Villagomez earns his second CAA Offensive Player of the Week award this year as a Tiger has won this honor for three consecutive weeks.  Schoonmaker picks up his first weekly honor of the season with Towson having its first Rookie of the Week selection this year.
 
The pair helped Towson win at Villanova 17-11 on Saturday, the team's third win of the season against a team either ranked or receiving votes in the polls.
 
Villagomez set new career-highs with seven goals and eight points, the team's first seven-goal individual performance in a game since 2023.  The redshirt junior from Severna Park scored six of his seven goals, and his lone assist, in the second half.
 
Schoonmaker scored a career-high four goals on as many shots from the first midfield line on Saturday.  The freshman from Parkton has scored at least one goal in all seven Towson games in his rookie campaign.
 
Towson begins league play on Saturday, March 21 at noon at Stony Brook.
