TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University softball team is back on the road for the second straight weekend. The Tigers are visiting Stony Brook for a weekend Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) series. Friday and Saturday's games are set to begin at 2 p.m. with Sunday's game starting at 1 p.m.
Scouting the Opponent:
The Stony Brook Seawolves are 8-19 overall so far this season and are 3-6 in CAA play with wins over Hampton and Drexel and currently sit in fourth in the CAA's North Division. Rachael Brown is batting .373 with 31 hits five homeruns and 20 RBIs, she leads the Seawolves in all four categories. On the mound, Aubrey Jepson and Jayci Finch have pitched 54.2 and 56.2 innings respectively and each hold an ERA in the low threes.
Tiger Notes:
Mikaela Guy earned her fifth save of the season in Tuesday's win over Georgetown. Guy continues to lead the CAA in saves and now is tied for the Towson single season saves record. Jessica Wides had five saves in the 2004 season and holds the current career record at eight.
Addie Ferguson hit her seventh homerun on Tuesday. Ferguson now has sole possession of the team lead and ranks tied for first in the CAA in homeruns while maintaining her conference lead in RBIs.
Mackenzie Gorczyca was named the CAA Player of the Week after her performance in the Tiger's series win against Monmouth.
Alyssa Myint equalled Gorczyca with five hits during the series.
Towson is now 18-11 through 29 games, a four-game improvement over the Tigers 14-15 record 29 games in during the 2025 season.
Towson currently sits second in the CAA North Division with a 4-2 conference record entering its third CAA series.\

Conference Realignment:
2026 sees the CAA conference division split put into effect. Towson, Drexel, Hofstra, Monmouth and Stony Brook make up the North Division while Campbell, Charleston, Elon, Hampton, North Carolina A&T and UNCW are the South Division. North division teams play six conference series against North teams and two against south teams. The top two teams in the standings of each division will automatically qualify for the CAA tournament while the final two spots will be determined by highest conference winning percentage of all the remaining teams from both divisions.
