TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University softball team is set to host Villanova tomorrow in a non-conference match up. The game is scheduled for a 3 p.m. start time at Tiger Softball Stadium.
Scouting the Opponent:
The Villanova Wildcats are 9-33 so far in 2026 and sport a 5-13 record in Big East play. Maddie Burrows leads the team with a .327 batting average while Maranda Runco paces the Wildcats with 31 RBIs.
Tiger Notes:
Leah Mears hit her second homerun of her rookie season on Sunday. The two-run homer provided all the runs Towson needed for a 2-1 win during game three of the series.
Mikaela Guy made two starts over the weekend and totaled 15.1 innings pitched. She allowed ten hits, and only three runs with ten strikeouts while earning the win on Sunday.
The Tigers 2-1 win over the seahawks was Towson's first road win over UNCW since March 24, 2019.

Conference Realignment:
2026 sees the CAA conference division split put into effect. Towson, Drexel, Hofstra, Monmouth and Stony Brook make up the North Division while Campbell, Charleston, Elon, Hampton, North Carolina A&T and UNCW are the South Division. North division teams play six conference series against North teams and two against south teams. The top two teams in the standings of each division will automatically qualify for the CAA tournament while the final two spots will be determined by highest conference winning percentage of all the remaining teams from both divisions.
