TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University softball team is set to host Monmouth for a Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) weekend series. Games one and two will start at 2 p.m. on Friday and Saturday respectively before the series finale at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
Scouting the Opponent:
The Monmouth Hawks are 15-25 overall in 2026 and are tied with the Tigers at fourth in the North Division at 5-10 in CAA play. Mackenzie Bloss leads the hawks in batting average (.378) and hits (45) while her and Gianna Stern pace Monmouth with five homers apiece. Alissa Eimont has a 3.82 ERA in over 100 innings of work on the mound. The Tigers visited the Hawks earlier in March and took two of three in the first series between the two sides.
Tiger Notes:
Towson defeated Villanova 5-2 on Wednesday after losing 16-0 to the Wildcats when the teams matched up in 2025. The win put the Tigers back over .500 at 21-20 overall.
Amanda Medina allowed only one hit over 4.0 innings out of the bullpen to earn a twelve-out save against the Wildcats.
Kalissa Coats made her first career start against Villanova when she began the game at third base. The rookie recorded her first hit and RBI in the game with a run scoring single in the bottom of the 6
th inning.
Jessa Pieters made her second career start on the mound.

Conference Realignment:
2026 sees the CAA conference division split put into effect. Towson, Drexel, Hofstra, Monmouth and Stony Brook make up the North Division while Campbell, Charleston, Elon, Hampton, North Carolina A&T and UNCW are the South Division. North division teams play six conference series against North teams and two against south teams. The top two teams in the standings of each division will automatically qualify for the CAA tournament while the final two spots will be determined by highest conference winning percentage of all the remaining teams from both divisions.
