TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University softball team is set to host Charleston for its final regular season series of the 2026 season. Games one and two will be played Thursday and Friday respectively at 2 p.m. before the season finale at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
Game one on Thursday is the Strikeout Cancer game, while Saturday's game is senior day. Seniors

Scouting the Opponent:
The College of Charleston Cougars are 25-26 overall with a week to play in 2026 and sit third in the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) South Division with a 13-8 CAA record. Bronwyn Conroy leads the Cougars with a .393 batting average and 66 hits while Leela Langston has racked up 35 RBIs. Mackenzie Mathis has 107 strikeouts and a 3.69 ERA in 123.1 innings of work.

If
Alyssa Myint starts at shortstop for Towson on Thursday, it will be her 100
th consecutive start for the Tigers.
Kaci Benton is now in the sole lead for the most homeruns in the CAA this season with 10. Benton also leads the conference with 31 extra base hits, the next highest in the CAA has 21.
The lowest ERA held by a Tiger pitcher in 2025 was 3.95. With three games left both
Olivia Trombley (3.16 ERA in 104.0 innings) and
Mikaela Guy (2.69 ERA in 86.0 innings) are currently below that number.

Conference Realignment:
2026 sees the CAA conference division split put into effect. Towson, Drexel, Hofstra, Monmouth and Stony Brook make up the North Division while Campbell, Charleston, Elon, Hampton, North Carolina A&T and UNCW are the South Division. North division teams play six conference series against North teams and two against south teams. The top two teams in the standings of each division will automatically qualify for the CAA tournament while the final two spots will be determined by highest conference winning percentage of all the remaining teams from both divisions.
