Yarussi matched her career-high with a 9.900 on balance beam in the Tigers’ season opener on Saturday. Her score was the highest of any gymnast on any event and helped the Tigers defeat Southern Connecticut State University 193.900-187.600. Towson’s team total of 193.900 was its highest in program history for a season opener. Yarussi won the balance beam title with her score and is one of 11 gymnasts is program history to score a 9.900 or higher on balance beam. She is tied for the top spot on balance beam among East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) gymnasts. Her score is tied for the second-highest in the South East Region and is tied for fifth-place nationally. Yarussi also competed on vault for the first time since returning from injury and finished seventh overall.
