TOWSON, Md. ? In addition, junior midfielder Pat Healey (Calvert Hall H.S./Bel Air, Md.) was honored as a third team selection.

Coach Frank Olszewski and the Tigers finished the most successful season in school history with an overall record of 15-2-3 and reached the third round of the NCAA College Cup. Towson won the Colonial Athletic Association regular season title with a 10-0-1 record and was seeded 15th in the nation in the College Cup.

Towson was one of three schools with two players named to the All-South Atlantic first team. Of the 12 players on the first team, the Tigers, Maryland and Old Dominion had two honorees each.

Haensel, who was named second team All-Region as a junior, led the Tigers in scoring with seven goals and eight assists. Six of his goals were game-winners. A two-time selection as first team All-CAA, Haensel finished his career with 23 goals and 18 assists, tied for tenth on Towson's career scoring list with 64 points.

A key to the Tigers' record-setting defense, Marples was a four-year starter and two-year co-captain for the Tigers. He started 68 of 72 career matches. As a senior, he was the backbone of a defense that ranked eighth in NCAA Division I with a 0.62 Goals Against Average. He helped the Tiger defense set a school record with 11 shutouts. Marples was also named first team All-CAA.

A three-year starter, Healey earned first team All-CAA honors this season. A starter in all 20 games, he was the Tigers' second-leading scorer with six goals and three assists. A second team All-CAA pick as a sophomore, he has started 55 of 56 career games. He has scored 19 goals with 14 assists in his career.

This marks the first time that Towson University has placed more than one player on the All-South Atlantic regional first team.
