WASHINGTON, D.C. - The
Tigers (2-0, 1-0 CAA) won the team's second straight meet Saturday, a 171-128
victory in a non-conference dual meet against Georgetown University.
"The divers did an unbelievable job," Towson Coach Pat Mead said. "Jenny Nevin did a very good job. We're seeing
progress in practice. We need to be able to swim tired and put up good times.
If we can do that, it will build our confidence at the end of the year."
Freshman Victoria Oslund and Nevin had solid meets for the
Tigers. Nevin was part of a Tiger team that won the 200-yard medley relay. She
teamed with Amanda Barber, Amanda Skroupa and Oslund to finish
with a winning time of 1:50.06. Nevin was also second in the 200-yard
breaststroke event, finishing behind teammate Caroline Woody. Woody finished with a time of 2:16.60.
Oslund won the 100-yard butterfly and 200-yard butterfly
while also taking first place in the 500-yard freestyle event.
Jeanne Ball and Caroline Baker each also recorded diving victories
for the Tigers. Baker's score of 325.43 won the one-meter dive while Ball
recorded a score of 319.73 to win the three-meter event.
The Tigers will be back in action Saturday, Nov. 5 when
Towson will host a POD meet as part of a two day event. The meet will begin at
9:30 a.m. Saturday.
