TOWSON, Md. – The
Tigers will play the team's final road game of the season Sunday when the team
will face the Virginia Commonwealth Rams at 6:00 p.m.
Towson (2-10-2, 1-7-1 CAA) enters the game on a two-game
unbeaten streak following a 2-2 tie against conference rival Delaware Oct. 26. Phil Martinelli and Quinn Meehan each scored second half
goals for the Tigers. The team now has a 2-3-2 home record following the tie.
Senior goalkeeper John Steele recorded four saves against the Blue Hens to preserve the tie.
The Rams will enter the contest on short rest following a
3-2 loss at High Point Friday night. Virginia Commonwealth (9-8-0, 4-4-0 CAA)
surrendered two goals 35 seconds apart late in the second half after taking a
2-1 lead in the first half.
Jason Johnson scored both goals for VCU. After his first
goal of the game tied the score at 1-1, Johnson took a pass from Kharlton
Belmar and used a bicycle kick to score his 10th goal of the season and give
the Rams the 2-1 advantage 37:54 into the contest.
The Tigers will play their regular season finale at home
Saturday Nov. 5 when the team hosts the Panthers of Georgia State to the Tiger
Soccer Complex. The game will begin at 1:00 p.m.
