PHILADELPHIA, Pa.- Looking for their first conference win of
the season Saturday, the Tigers (1-7-1, 0-4-0) travelled to Drexel for a matchup
with the Dragons. But Ken Tribbett and Mark Donohue each scored to help Drexel
(2-7-2, 1-2-1) post a 2-0 victory.
Tribbett helped the Dragons get on the board early with a
penalty kick goal 4:08 into the game to give Drexel the early 1-0 advantage.
Donohue scored late in the second half as a blocked ball
found Donohue and he tapped it in past goalkeeper Angelo Viteritti for the 2-0
lead.
Towson senior goalkeeper John Steele recorded two saves for
the Tigers, while Viteritti also saw time in the net and recorded three saves.
Matteo Vertucci and Phil Martinelli each recorded a pair of
shots for the Tigers, who registered eight for the game. Drexel goalie Pentti
Pussinen recorded two saves for the victory. He has both of Drexel's wins this
season.
The Tigers will next head to George Mason Wednesday, Oct. 12
for a game against the Patriots. Kickoff is slated for 7:00 p.m.
