TOWSON, Md. – Towson finished a
two-day POD meet by defeating a pair of Colonial Athletic Association teams
Sunday at Burdick Pool. The Tigers (4-0, 3-0 CAA) defeated UNC Wilmington by a
score of 233-120 and were victorious over Delaware 272.50-78.50.

Wilmington defeated Delaware in a separate dual-meet 234-117.
The Tigers were led by senior Cari Czarnecki, who posted
wins in the 100-yard breaststroke and 200-yard individual medley. Czarnecki was
also part of a relay team that won the 400-yard medley relay with teammates Amanda Skroupa, Kaitlin Burke and freshman Victoria Oslund. Czarnecki
finished the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:05.64.
Oslund and Burke also posted strong results, as Oslund finished
first in the 100-yard butterfly and finished second to Czarnecki in the
200-yard individual medley.
Burke, a sophomore, was strong posting victories in the 100, 200 and 500-yard
freestyle events.
Skroupa won the 100 and 200-yard backstroke.
“The women did a really good job,” Towson Coach Pat Mead said. “I'm very proud of them. I
thought that we would swim well, but we still need to get some work done.”
Towson
returns to the pool Saturday, Nov.12 when the team travels to George Washington
in a nonconference dual meet beginning at 1:00 p.m.
