TOWSON, Md.- Looking to extend its unbeaten record at home in Colonial Athletic Association play, the Towson men's soccer team was defeated by Drexel Saturday, 1-0.

The Tigers (4-7-1, 2-3-1 CAA) entered the match against the Dragons 1-0-1 at home in CAA play this season. But Nathan Page scored a goal with under five minutes remaining in the first half to give Drexel (9-3-1, 5-1 CAA) a 1-0 lead they would not relinquish. Page stole the ball from a Tiger defender and fired a shot on the right side. Before the ball beat Towson freshman goalkeeper Felix Petermann, the ball hit the post and trickled into the net.

"We came out and played hard," Towson head coach Frank Olszewski said. "We made a bad play on the goal and it cost us. We could have gone two ways after that goal was scored. We could've hung our heads or we could have buckled up our bootstraps and come out and play as we did in the second half. That was a positive."

The Tigers were not discouraged and came out in the second half playing with energy. Towson outshot Drexel 9-1 in the second half. Olakunle Banjo led the Tigers with five shots for the game.

The Dragons improved their CAA leading record to 5-1 with the win as Tim Washam posted his sixth shutout of the season in net for Drexel.

Petermann finished the game with four saves for Towson, taking another step forward in his positive development, according to Olszewski.

"He was outstanding," the Tiger coach said. "He's done more than enough. For a freshman, his adjustment period to the college game has been outstanding."

The Tigers return to the Tiger Soccer Complex Wednesday when they host George Mason for a 3 p.m. kickoff.
