| @Towson_MSOC Defeats Defending CAA Champions 3-2

NEWARK, Del. - Enrico Skrypzak scored two goals, and Olakunle Banjo added a goal and an assist as the Tigers (4-5, 2-1 CAA) defeated the Delaware Blue Hens (3-7-1) Wednesday night. Delaware is the defending Colonial Athletic Association champion.

"The guys were determined tonight and our play turned it into a wave of momentum," Towson head coach Frank Olszewski said. "It was one of the gutsiest performances you'll ever see."

All three of the Tiger goals came in the first half over a 12-minute span. After Delaware took a 1-0 lead 4:46 into the game on a goal from Joe Dipre, Towson's junior forward Banjo knotted the score with a blast with just under 35 minutes remaining in the half. It was the third goal of the season for Banjo, which is tied for the team lead with Skrypzak.

Skrypzak, also a junior, gave Towson the lead with his first goal when a cross led to his shot from 20 yards out which beat Delaware goalkeeper Jay Lupas and gave the Tigers a 2-1 lead.

Towson freshman goalkeeper Felix Petermann made the lead standup with a clutch penalty kick save on Delaware's Roberto Gimenez to preserve the 2-1 lead. Towson matched its largest lead of the season when it went ahead 3-1 on the second goal by Skrypzak at the 23:44 mark of the first half.

Delaware brought the game to its final 3-2 margin when Dipre added his second goal of the contest with 12:55 remaining in the first half.

Petermann set a season-high with six saves in the win, while Skrypzak and Banjo combined for seven of the team's 13 shots.

Towson will return to the Tiger Soccer Complex Saturday when they host William & Mary at 2 p.m.
