TOWSON, Md. - Looking for its second Colonial Athletic Association victory of the season, the Towson women's soccer team was defeated by the James Madison Dukes 1-0 Sunday afternoon at the Tiger Soccer Complex.

The Tigers (1-11-1, 1-4 CAA) fell behind early when James Madison (4-9, 2-3 CAA) got a breakaway from Lauren Wilson on the right side of the field. She went one-on-one with Towson goalkeeper Erin Quinn and put the ball in the net just 2:10 into the game for a 1-0 Dukes lead early in the first half. Quinn finished the game with seven saves for Towson.

"We have to do a better job of testing the opposing team's goalkeeper," Towson head coach Greg Paynter said. "I thought we responded well after the goal was scored. Certainly, the resiliency of this team is showing. To come out and battle every game is tough and I admire what our team did today."

Towson was led offensively by senior forward Cheyenne Skidmore, who recorded a game-high five shots. Skidmore helped the Tigers outshoot the Dukes 12-11 for the game.

"This was probably our most complete 90 minutes of the year," Paynter said. "We spent a lot of our time this week focusing on our defensive pressure and I thought we did a really good job."

The Tigers return to the pitch Friday when they travel to Northeastern University. The game is set to kickoff at 6 p.m.
