EMMITSBURG, Md. – Olakunle Banjo scored a goal and added an assist to lead the Towson Tigers (1-1-0) to a 2-1 double overtime road victory over Mount St. Mary's (0-1-0) Tuesday.

Banjo, a preseason All-Colonial Athletic Association selection, converted on a shot with 8:33 left in the second overtime to lift Towson. The Tigers' C.J. Corey and Trevar Ondiek were credited with the assists on the game-winning goal.

"I can't tell you the jolt of energy guys like Trevar and Cameron Kidwell gave us tonight," Towson head coach Frank Olszewski said. "We had some unsung players really play well tonight."

After being held scoreless in the team's opening 1-0 loss to Monmouth Friday, the Tigers wasted little time getting on the board against The Mount. Enrico Skrypzak made sure the Tigers got on the board first, scoring in the 10th minute off a pass from Banjo. Skrypzak's third career goal gave the Tigers a 1-0 lead they would take into halftime.

The Mount regrouped and scored quickly after the second half began when Patrick Wheeler attempted a shot from 20-yards out that beat Towson goalkeeper Felix Petermann, tying the game at 1-1 with just over 40 minutes remaining in regulation.

From there, the teams would play to a standstill until Banjo scored the game-winner. It was the fifth game-winning goal of his career.

Though Towson was outshot by a 15-12 margin for the game, the Tigers attempted three shots in the overtime periods while holding The Mount to just one shot over that span.

The freshman Petermann earned his first career win for the Tigers, making four saves.

The Tigers will remain on the road for their next game Saturday against Albany, beginning at 7 p.m.
