| @Towson_WSOC Opens CAA Play This Weekend

TOWSON, Md. - The Towson University women's soccer team begins its Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) season with a pair of road games at Delaware on Friday, Sept. 21 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, Sept. 23 at Drexel at 3 p.m.

Delaware finished its non-conference season with a 3-4 record, earning victories over Siena, Delaware State and Long Island University. The Blue Hens are led by Anna Lencyzk's two goals. Four other players have tallied one goal apiece including Emily Market, this week's CAA Player of the Week. Jessica Levy and Jess Figuero split time in net for Delaware. Levy has started five of seven games. The Blue Hens have only allowed seven goals all season and hold a 35-18 advantage in corner kicks.

Drexel comes into this weekend on a three-game win streak. They face CAA rival George Mason on Friday night. As of today, the Dragons have a 6-1-1 overall record. Gabby Dixon leads Drexel with six points (2g, 2a). Four other players have two goals each. Eve Badana is the starting goalkeeper; she has made 22 saves and has a goals-against average (GAA) of 0.75. The Dragons have out-scored opponents 13-6 and like to attack early. Seven of their 13 goals have come in the first half.

Towson finished non-conference play with an 0-7-1 record. The Tigers were competitive throughout the early season, playing five matches that were decided by one goal. Last weekend, Towson traveled to West Virginia University and fell to the Mountaineers 5-0.

Senior Cheyenne Skidmore has a team-leading three goals for Towson. Sophomore Katlyn Axenfeld and freshman Hollie Garber have each tallied one goal for the Tigers. Sophomore Erin Quinn is the starting goalkeeper. She has made 43 saves.

The Tigers play their home-opener on Friday, Sept. 28 against Old Dominion at 4 p.m. at the Tiger Soccer Complex.
