Harrisonburg, Va. - Looking to go 2-0 in the Colonial Athletic Association for the first time since 2007-08, the Tigers (3-5, 1-1 CAA) dropped a tough 4-0 decision at the James Madison Dukes (4-4-1, 2-0 CAA) Saturday night under the lights.

The Tigers and Dukes were even through much of the first half, as Towson went stride for stride with their opponent despite tallying just two shots in the period.

The Dukes got a 1-0 advantage when Josh Grant's fourth goal of the season in the 21st minute beat Towson freshman goalkeeper Felix Petermann. Petermann, the reigning CAA Rookie of the Week, made four saves in the game.

However, the Dukes stepped on the gas offensively in the second half, registering 13 shots in the final period and scoring three additional goals. Steven Mashinski's first goal of the year with just under 30 minutes left put the Dukes in front 2-0, and Paul Wyatt later added two goals less than 10 minutes apart. Wyatt now has five goals this season and entered Saturday with 28 shots, which ranked fourth in the league.

Senior forward Matteo Vertucci, who scored the only goal in the Tigers' 1-0 victory over Georgia State last week, had a team-high three shots Saturday for Towson.

The Tigers return to the pitch Wednesday at Delaware beginning at 7 p.m. in Newark, Del.
