TOWSON, Md. - The Towson University field hockey team played its final home game of the regular season Friday night, falling 3-1 to the Northeastern Huskies (6-9, 2-1 CAA) at Unitas Stadium.
Prior to the game, the Tigers honored seniors Kathleen Morris and Kate Williams, who were playing in the final home game of their career.
Towson Head Coach Carly Powell was appreciative of the pair for their representation of the program.
"Our seniors have really been supportive," Powell said. "They have done an excellent job helping us move forward. They truly have their hearts with the Tigers and have made such a great commitment to this program."
Despite a scoreless first half, the team's combined for all four goals in the second period.
Northeastern's Kelly Dunn scored her first two goals of the season in the win, including the opening tally 3:05 into the second half. Dunn got in close towards the Tiger net and gathered a loose rebound, firing a shot into the net to give the Huskies a 1-0 lead.
Trailing 3-0 midway through the second half, the Tiger offense came alive when Morris blasted a shot from the top of the circle that went past Husky goalkeeper Becky Garner.
Morris had a team-high three shots for Towson, while Kelsey Fielder added two.
The Tigers (1-14, 0-4 CAA) head to New York on Sunday to face CAA rival Hofstra. The game starts at 1 p.m.
