TOWSON, Md. – Towson field hockey midfielder
Anouk Westerink has been named to the Preseason All-Coastal Athletic Association team, the CAA announced on Thursday. This is Westerink's second consecutive year receiving preseason all-conference honors.
"Having Anouk recognized on the Preseason All-CAA Team is an incredible honor for both her and our program. This recognition reflects not only the impact Anouk has made on the field, but also the growth of our team and the standards our players continue to set through their hard work, commitment and belief in what we are doing here at Towson." Towson field hockey head coach Katie Gerzabeck Salem said, "Anouk has earned respect across the CAA conference through her consistency, competitive drive, hockey IQ and ability to elevate those around her. We are so proud of her for this recognition and looking forward to the 2026 season!"
Westerink earns her second preseason all-conference nod of her career after being named to the All-CAA First Team for the second consecutive season in 2025. The rising junior is the third ever Towson field hockey player to be on the All-CAA First Team multiple times and is the first to do it as a freshman and sophomore. The Ede, Netherlands national has started 36 games and accumulated ten goals and 22 points so far in her career.
In the 2026 CAA Preseason Field Hockey Poll, the Tigers received 23 points to place fifth in the voting. Monmouth was voted first with 40 points and four first place votes followed by Drexel with two first place votes and 38 points. New conference member Fairfield was voted third with 31 points and one first place vote followed by Northeastern with 25 points.

Our group has had a tremendous offseason, and there is a genuine belief in what we are building together at Towson." Coach Gerzabeck Salem said, "We have a talented mix of returning experience and new energy, and our players have embraced the work necessary to continue raising the standard. The CAA is an extremely competitive conference, especially with the addition of Fairfield this season, and we're looking forward to the challenge and the opportunity to compete for something special."
The Tigers begin the 2026 season with a trip to Appalachian State at 6 p.m. on Friday, August 28. Towson's first home game takes place on Friday, September 4 at 2 p.m. when the Tigers host Georgetown. Admission to all Towson field hockey home games are free to the public.
