TOWSON, Md. – Towson University field hockey head coach Katie Gerzabek Salem has announced the signing of Else Wismans on Wednesday. Wismans becomes the thirteenth player overall and eighth incoming rookie of the 2026 class.

Else is a strong and versatile midfielder who brings a high level of game understanding, technical ability, and competitiveness." Coach Gerzabek Salem stated, "Beyond her skill set, her work rate, coachability, and team-first mentality make her a perfect fit for our Tiger culture. We can't wait to see the impact she'll make on and off the field."
 
 
Else Wismans is a midfielder who hails from Deventer, The Netherlands where she played club hockey with Deventer Hockey Vereniging (DHV). Wismans represented the top U18 girls' team in the club who play in the Sub-top class, the second highest tier of U18 hockey in the area playing all over the midfield.
 
 
"I feel like the team had a very positive energy and I had a great connection with Katie and Noelle." Wismans said, "I think that this is a great opportunity and that I will learn a lot!"
