Updating the Tigers

The Tigers open Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) play with a pair of road games this weekend. Towson travels to William & Mary on Friday before continuing to James Madison on Sunday.

Scouting the Tigers
Seniors Courtney Branco, Kelly Mattingly and freshman Meg Stuart all recorded goals against Longwood on Friday, September 26. Sophomore Megan Boyle made 10 saves between two games this past weekend.  
 
Scouting William & Mary
William & Mary enters Friday with a 3-7 record. Most recently, the team beat Davidson 2-0. Junior Pippa Saunders leads the Tribe in points with 10 (4 G, 2 A). Junior Meredith Savage has a .597 save percentage and has allowed 31 goals in 10 games for the Tribe.

Scouting James Madison
James Madison will host Delaware on Friday before facing the Tigers on Sunday. The Dukes are 6-2 on the season. Junior Loes Stijntjes is the leading point getter for the Dukes with 17 (8 G, 1 A). Senior Hannah George has a .639 save percentage and has allowed 13 goals in 8 games for James Madison.

Series History
The Tigers have faced William & Mary 20 times. The Tribe has won 16 of those matchups (16-3-1). The two  met last season when the Tribe beat Towson 5-1.

The Tigers have battled James Madison 20 times. The Dukes have a 19-1-0 advantage in the series. In last year's match-up JMU claimed a 2-1 victory in Towson.

Leading the Tigers
Junior Stacey Mackintosh leads the Tigers with seven points (2 G, 3 A). Mackintosh also leads the Tigers in assists with three. Senior Courtney Branco has scored a team-high three goals. Senior Kelly Mattingly leads the Tigers in shots (13).

Saves, Saves, Saves
Sophomore Megan Boyle leads CAA goalkeepers in saves with 56 and saves per game (7). She also ranks third in the conference in save percentage (.691).

Balancing Act
The Tigers have enjoyed a balanced scoring output this season with seven different players recording a point.

Defensive Dynamos
The Tigers have  seen defensive saves made by three players. Mackintosh, Mattingly and junior Heather Jenney have all recorded defensive saves this season.

The Tigers will travel to Columbia on Friday, October 10 to face the Lions at 3 p.m before hosting Delaware on Sunday October 12 at 1 p.m.
