BOX SCORE LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Towson University freshman
Emilee Woodall recorded eight saves in her first career appearance in goal but it was not enough as the Tiger field hockey team fell at Lock Haven by a 7-0 score on Saturday afternoon. Sophomore
Megan Boyle started in goal for the Tigers (0-2) and made two saves in 44:33 minutes of play.
Lock Haven (2-1) took an early lead in the contest as
Brittney Hickernell recorded an unassisted goal in the ninth minute of the game.
The Lady Eagles would extend their lead to 3-0 on two quick goals from
Lydia George before the end of the first half. George capitalized in the 31
st minute on a pass from
Nakira Downes to deflect the ball in the net. George then scored an unassisted goal less than a minute later for the Lady Eagles.
The Lady Eagles outshot the Tigers 7-2 in the first half as Boyle made two first-half saves.
Lock Haven scored four goals in the second half as Downes picked up her second goal of the game as well as an assist.
The Lady Eagles continued to outshoot the Tigers 14-7 in the second half as Lock Haven finished the game with a 20-9 advantage.
Junior
Stacey Mackintosh led the Tigers in shots with four.
Elaina White made eight saves while playing the first 56:10 to earn the win.
Maddie Wagenfeld was not forced to make a save in the final 13:50 of action.
Woodall came in on relief action and made eight saves in the final 25:27 of action.
The Tigers return to action on September 7 as they visit St. Francis (Pa.) for a 1 p.m. game.
