Women's Basketball Hosts Hofstra on Sunday

OPENING TIP: Coming off back-to-back wins, the Towson women's basketball team wraps up its three-game home stand by hosting Hofstra on Sunday, Jan. 11 at 2 p.m. in SECU Arena.

SERIES HISTORY: The Tigers renews a series that has been a tightly contested one Sunday as Hofstra visits SECU Arena. After sweeping the season series last year, the Tigers hold a 29-28 edge in the match-up. Towson has won each of its last three games against the Pride.

FIFTY BELOW: The Tigers held Delaware to just 49 points on Friday night in the win. It was a season-low points allowed by the Tigers and the second time this season they have held an opponent to 50 points or less (50-at Loyola). The 49 points allowed by the Tigers is the lowest point total the Tigers have surrendered since they gave up 46 to Loyola during the 2013-14 season. Towson is 4-0 under Head Coach Niki Reid Geckeler when it holds an opponent to 50 points or less and 11-1 since the start of the 2010-11 season when it hits that mark.

GOING DEEP: Towson connected on six three-pointers in the win over Delaware. Senior guard Ciara Webb had three triples while junior guard Dominique Johnson posted two and senior forward Camille Alberson had the other one. Towson has recorded six or more three-pointers in four of the last six games. Of the Tigers' 72 three-pointers on the season, 36 of the triples have come in the last six games. Johnson leads the team with 31 three-pointers and 12 of those have come in the last six games. Webb now has 15 triples this season and 11 have come during the six game stretch.

THE 700 CLUB: One game after junior guard Dominique Johnson recorded the 700th point of her career, one of her teammates' matched the feat. Redshirt senior forward LaTorri Hines-Allen posted the 700th point of her Tiger career on Friday night against Delaware. Hines-Allen now has 717 points as a Tiger and 956 points total (Virginia Tech and Towson combined).

BANGING THE BOARDS: Towson won the rebounding battle for the second straight game. The Tigers outrebounded Delaware, 39-31 on Friday evening. Nine of the ten Tigers who appeared in the Delaware game recorded at least one rebound. That group was led by redshirt senior forward LaTorri Hines-Allen who had 12 and senior guard Ciara Webb who matched her career-high with nine. Towson has now won the rebounding battle five times this season and is 3-2 in those games.

TWENTY TWENTY VISION:  Redshirt senior forward LaTorri Hines-Allen had 20 points in Friday night's win over Delaware. It was Hines-Allen's third straight game with 20 or more points and ninth 20+ point game of the season. Hines-Allen is tied for the CAA lead in 20+ point games this year.

DOUBLE YOUR PLEASURE: Redshirt senior forward LaTorri Hines-Allen tallied her third straight double-double performance in the win over Delaware. Hines-Allen had 20 points and 12 rebounds for her team and CAA leading eighth double-double of the year. The Tigers have the CAA leader in double-doubles on both the women's and the men's side of the ball (Hines-Allen - eight and John Davis - six).

UP NEXT: The Tiger women's basketball team visits College of Charleston and Elon next weekend before returning home to host Northeaster on Jan. 22.
