Tigers Head To La Salle For Non-Conference Matchup

ON THE ROAD: Towson stays on the road to continue a four-game roadtrip. The Tigers will play just one game this week, heading to La Salle for a non-conference matchup on Sunday, Oct. 19 at 12 p.m.

UPDATING THE TIGERS: The Tigers are looking to snap a four-game losing streak with a win against La Salle. Towson, which ranks second among Division I teams in defensive saves, added two at Hofstra (Stacey Mackintosh, Erika McKay). Sophomore goalkeeper Emilee Woodall recorded a career-high 15 saves in the Tigers' loss to Hofstra on Sunday.

SERIES HISTORY: This will be the 26th meeting between Towson and La Salle. The Tigers have an 18-7 advantage in the series, La Salle defeated Towson 2-0 last season to end a 10 game win-streak for the Tigers.

SCOUTING LA SALLE: La Salle (8-7) come into Sunday's game with a two-game win streak after defeating Saint Joseph's 3-1. Jenica Miller leads the team with 11 points (2 G, 7 A). Goalkeeper Rachel Hartman has 67 saves on the season with a .728 save percentage.

BALANCING ACT: The Tigers have enjoyed a balanced scoring output this season with nine different players recording a point. Junior Morgan Skavdahl (3 G) and seniors Stacey Mackintosh (3 G) and Heather Jenney (2 G, 2 A) lead the squad with six points each. Junior Sam Zelenack has a team-best three assists on the season.

SAVES, SAVES, SAVES: Towson sits at the top of the conference with 144 total saves on the season. Junior Megan Boyle leads the CAA with a .758 save percentage. She also ranks second in the CAA in saves (75) and seventh in the conference in goals against average (3.15). Sophomore Emilee Woodall is sixth in the conference in saves (56) and save percentage (.651) and ninth in goals against average (5.47).

DEFENSIVE DYNAMOS:The Tigers lead the conference with 13 defensive saves and have recorded at least one defensive save in seven games this season. Senior Stacey Mackintosh tallied one against Hofstra and has a CAA leading seven defensive saves. She is tied for third among all Division I players. Freshman Erika McKay added one against Hofstra as well for a total of three so far this season. She is tied for the second-most defensive saves in the conference. Sophomore Sabrina Davis has made two defensive saves while senior Heather Jenney has recorded one this season.
 
FACING THE BEST: The Tigers have a tough schedule in 2015 with three of their opponents ranked in the Penn Monto/NFHCA Division I Poll. The Tigers fell to No. 19 James Madison to open play in October and are scheduled to face No. 15 Delaware (Oct. 23) and No. 7 Maryland (Oct. 25).

UP NEXT: The Tigers will wrap up their four-game roadtrip at CAA rival No. 15 Delaware on Friday, Oct. 23 at 6 p.m. and No. 7 Maryland on Sunday, Oct. 25 at 1 p.m.
