Tigers Battle No. 2 North Carolina on Sunday in Unitas Stadium

Opening Draw: The Towson women's lacrosse team continues its home stand as it returns to Unitas Stadium on Sunday, March 15. No. 2 North Carolina comes to visit as first draw is set for 12 noon. Audio coverage of the game is available on Towson Sports Network with Kevin Copp providing the call.

Updating the Tigers: The Tigers will look to bounce back from a tough loss to No. 1 Maryland on Wednesday night. Sophomore attacker Gabby Cha scored twice against the Terps on Wednesday. Junior midfielder Breanna Hamm had a career-high seven draw controls. Redshirt senior attacker Andi Raymond leads the Tigers with nine points on four goals and five assists. Cha has contributed five goals and an assist. Hamm has a team-high 16 draw controls this season while junior defender Emily Roth has a team-bes eight ground balls. Senior defender Michelle Dufault has four caused turnovers. Senior goalkeeper Kelsea Donnelly has a 9.57 goals against average and a save percentage of .440.

Scouting North Carolina: North Carolina comes into Sunday's game having won four straight following a 10-6 win over No. 19 Albany on Friday. Aly Messinger led the Tar Heels with two goals and an assist in the game. Messinger leads North Carolina with 12 goals and seven assists for 19 points. Sammy Jo Tracy has contributed 16 goals and two assists for 18 points. Sydney Holman has a team-high eight assists. Sarah Scott has 20 draw controls while Margaret Corzel has 15 ground balls and 10 caused turnovers. Caylee Waters has appeared in eight games in goal with a 7.78 goals against average and a .486 save percentage in goal.

Towson-North Carolina Series History: Sunday's game will be the sixth all-time between the Tigers and the Tar Heels. North Carolina has won each of the previous five meetings, including a 17-8 victory last year in Chapel Hill. In that game, Andi Raymond had three goals and an assist for the Tigers while Sydney Holman had three goals and two assists for the Tar Heels.
 
Just the Way We Drew it Up: Junior midfielder Breanna Hamm has been dominate in the circle this season. Hamm pulled down a career-high seven draw controls against Maryland and helped the Tigers win the draw control battle 13-8. It was the most draw controls by a Tiger in a game since now director of operations, Katie Leech had 10 against ODU during the 2013 season. Hamm now has 87 career draw controls. She needs three more draw controls to move into the top 10 for career draw controls at Towson.

Nifty 50: Senior defender Michelle Dufault had a caused turnover in Wednesday night's game against Maryland. That gives Dufault 52 caused turnovers for her career. She needs just one more caused turnovers to break into the top 10 for career caused turnovers at Towson.

Freshmen Contribute: The Tigers have gotten contributions from their freshmen throughout the first three games. Freshman Jenna Kerr became the third Tiger to record her first career point with an assist on Wednesday against Maryland. Freshman Kaitlyn Montalbano scored a goal in the season opener while freshman Erika Cavallo had a pair of goals in the win at Georgetown.

Up Next: The Tigers begin their Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) title defense when they make the trip up I-95 to take on Delaware on Wednesday, March 18. Opening draw from Delaware Stadium is set for 6 p.m.
