TOWSON, Md. - Towson University women's lacrosse midfielder Lisa Magill has been named to Sweden's Women's Lacrosse Sixes National Team, as announced by the organization on Friday.
Magill is one of twelve athletes named to the team who will represent Sweden at the European Sixes Lacrosse Championships in Salou, Spain from November 2 to 9. The championship will serve as the qualifier for the 2027 World Lacrosse Sixes Championships.
"I feel so honored to have made the Swedish National Lacrosse Team and feel incredibly proud to represent my country," said Magill. "It feels very special to help lacrosse grow as a sport in Sweden. It's all such a full circle moment, and I couldn't be more excited for what is to come!"
Magill's connection to the Swedish national team began four years ago when she attended the World Lacrosse Championship, hosted at Towson University, and watched Sweden compete against Spain. While there, Magill connected with the team. After committing to Towson, Magill returned to Sweden this past summer, where she competed in the Swedish National Championships and participated in the national team tryouts.
The California native completed her freshman campaign as a Tiger this past season. Prior to joining the Black & Gold, Magill was a four-time Scholar Athlete of the Year and a two-time First Team All-League selection while at Carlsbad High School and Alliance National. She was additionally named the 2024 Player of the Year.
