Tigers Open Four-Game Homestand with Georgetown, Villanova

HOME SWEET HOME: Towson returns home to host a four-game home stand. The Tigers welcome Georgetown on Friday before hosting Villanova on Sunday. Game times are set for 6 p.m. and 2 p.m., respectively.

UPDATING THE TIGERS: Junior Sam Zelenack led the Tigers with three points (1 G, 1 A) last weekend. Junior Morgan Skavdahl and senior Stacey Mackintosh also recorded goals for the Tigers. Mackintosh had an impact on the defensive side, recording two defensive saves over the pair of games.

SERIES HISTORY: This will be the 14th meeting between Towson and Georgetown. The Hoyas hold a 9-7 series lead and defeated the Tigers 3-0 last season.
The Tigers have faced Villanova three times with the Wildcasts holding a 3-0 advantage in the series. Towson and Villanova last met in 1998 when the Wildcats earned a 3-0 victory over the Tigers.

SCOUTING GEORGETOWN: Georgetown enters Friday's contest with a 4-3 record. The Hoyas earned a 1-0 win over Lehigh in their last game out. Devin Holmes leads the team with six points (2 G, 2 A) while goalkeeper Rachel Skonecki has 54 saves on the season with a .871 save percentage.

SCOUTING VILLANOVA: Villanova (1-6) will face Siena on Friday before battling the Tigers on Sunday. The Wildcats have lost four-straight including their most recent decision a 2-1 loss to Fairfield. Francesca Bello leads the Wildcats with 10 points (3 G, 4 A). Goalkeeper Erika Miller has made 45 saves on the season and has a .726 save percentage.

BALANCING ACT: The Tigers have enjoyed a balanced scoring output this season with seven different players recording a point.

SAVES, SAVES, SAVES: Sophomore Megan Boyle ranks second in the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) with 44 saves on the season, fourth with a .688 save percentage and ranks seventh in the conference in goals against average with 3.81.

DEFENSIVE DYNAMOS: The Tigers recorded five defensive saves last weekend. Towson has seen seven defensive saves made by four players so far this season. Seniors Stacey Mackintosh and Heather Jenney, sophomore Sabrina Davis and freshman Erika McKay have all recorded defensive saves.

MAKING AN IMPACT: Freshmen Devon Hake and Erika McKay are two of six Tigers that have started all eight games for the Tigers this season. Other players include Heather Jenney, Sam Zelenack, Morgan Skavdahl and Taylor Kvilhaug.

UP NEXT: The Tigers close out their four-game home stand by hosting conference rivals James Madison and William & Mary. The Tigers and Dukes will face off on Friday, Oct. 2 at 6 p.m. Towson will wecome The Tribe on Sunday, Oct. 4 at 12 p.m.
