WELCOME HOMETOWN HEROES: Sunday's game will be "Hometown Heroes" Day in SECU Arena. The Tigers welcome members of the military and first responders to the game. Any members of the military, first responders and their family will receive a free ticket with ID.
LOOKING AT HOFSTRA: The Pride have lost two of their last three games following a 71-54 loss to James Madison on Friday night.
Ashunae Durant led Hofstra with 20 points and four rebounds while
Kelly Loftus added 11 points. Loftus leads the team on the season while averaging 14.0 points per game. Durant is contributing 11.8 points and 9.3 rebounds per game.
SERIES HISTORY: Towson renews one of its closest rivalries when it faces the Hofstra Pride. The Tigers and Pride will be meeting for the second time this season and 61st time overall. Hofstra holds a slim 31-29 edge in the all-time series and have won three straight following a 64-60 win when the two squads met in January. The Tigers will be looking for their first win in the series since the 2013-14 season.
TWENTY TWENTY VISION: Senior guard
Dominique Johnson poured in 23 points in Friday night's match-up against Delaware. It was the fourth time this season Johnson has scored 20 or more points in a game and the 13th time in her career that she reached that point total. It was also the 61st time in her career that Johnson scored in double digits in a game.
FRESHMEN STEP UP: The Tigers got solid performances from a pair of freshmen on Friday night against Delaware. Freshman guard
Sianni Martin had 13 points while grabbing a career-high seven rebounds and dishing out a career-high six assists. The six assists were tied for the most by a Tiger this season. Freshman forward
Brittany Tarr contributed a career-high 12 points and added seven rebounds in the game.
200 AND COUNTING: Senior guard
Dominique Johnson reached a major milestone in the third quarter of Friday's game. Johnson hit her fifth three-pointer of the game with 8:53 to go in the stanza. That raised her season total to 44 made three-pointers and her career total to 200 made three-pointers. Johnson, who already holds the school record for career three-pointers, is the first player in school history to make 200 career threes.
UP NEXT: The Tigers hit the road following Sunday's game to visit Elon on Friday, Feb. 12. Towson will then return home to host College of Charleston on Sunday, Feb. 14 at 2 p.m.
