Updating the Tigers: Towson ran it's record to 5-0 with an 8-7 victory over Georgetown last Saturday. Six Tigers scored in that game including freshman attacker Carly Tellekamp, who scored the game-winning goal with 24 seconds to play. The Tigers are led on the season by sophomore midfielder Kaitlyn Montalbano, who has 14 points on nine goals and five assists. Fellow sophomore midfielder Emily Gillingham has added nine goals and an assist while Tellekamp has eight goals and two assists. Senior midfielder Breanna Hamm and senior defenders Emily Roth and Nadia Podo each have 10 ground balls. Gillingham has pulled down a team-high nine draw controls while sophomore defender Tianna Wallpher has seven caused turnovers. Freshman Angie Benson leads the way in goal with a 5.51 goals against average and a .432 save percentage.

Scouting Stetson: Stetson enters Friday's game having won three straight following a 16-12 victory over Radford on Tuesday evening. Towson-Stetson Series History: Friday's game will be the first ever meeting between the Tigers and Hatters. It will however be the Tigers' second game this season against a member of the Atlantic Sun Conference (Towson defeated Jacksonville in overtime on Feb. 13). Stetson is the second of three teams that the Tigers will face for the first time ever this season (Jacksonville, Florida, Stetson).

Strong Starts: The win over Georgetown moved the Tigers' record to 5-0 this season. That tied the 1992 and 2005 squads for the best ever start in school history. Towson has a chance to improve on that mark Friday.

I'm Honored: For the third time this season, freshman attacker Carly Tellekamp was honored for her play the previous week. Tellekamp was named the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Rookie of the Week on Tuesday after scoring a pair of goals in the win over Georgetown. That included the game-winning goal on a free position shot with 24 seconds to play. Tellekamp was previously honored as the CAA Rookie of the Week on Feb. 23 and the ILWomen.com National Rookie of the Week on Feb. 16.

Climbing the Ranks: The win over Georgetown helped the Tigers climb in two of the three national polls this week. Towson moved from No. 20 to 18 in the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Poll. The Tigers climbed from No. 17 into a tie for 15th in the ILWomen.com Media Poll. The Tigers held steady at No. 15 in the Nike/Lacrosse Magazine Polll this week.

All About the Defense: Defense continues to play an important role for the Tigers early on this season. Towson limited Georgetown to seven goals last time out and has now held all five of it's opponents to single-digits on the scoreboard. The Tigers enter play this weekend with the second best scoring defense in the nation. Towson is surrendering an average of 5.20 goals per game.

Sax Stands Tall: Senior goalkeeper Alyssa Saxon entered the game against Georgetown with 18:02 to play and the Tigers trailing by one. Saxon ran the defense and made an save on a free position shot to help the Tigers claim the victory. It was Saxon's first career victory in the crease.

What's Next? Towson wraps up the road trip by visiting No. 2 Florida on March 14.
