TOWSON, Md. – The Towson women's gymnastics team travels to the University of Pittsburgh for the 2016 East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) Championship Meet on Saturday, March 19 at 2 p.m. The championship meet will be held at the Fitzgerald Field House and shown on ESPN3.
The meet will feature conference members George Washington, New Hampshire, North Carolina, NC State, Towson and Pittsburgh.
Towson had four gymnasts earn All-EAGL honors this season, led by sophomore
Tyra McKellar who earned first team honors for uneven bars, floor exercise and all-around. Freshman
Mary Elle Arduino was named First Team All-EAGL for balance beam after leading all EAGL freshmen with a regional qualifying score (RQS) of 9.860. In addition, sophomore
Gabriella Yarussi (balance beam) and freshman
Aysia Sharif (floor exercise) both earned Second Team All-EAGL honors.
Arduino had an impressive freshman campaign for the Tigers, matching the program-best on balance beam with a score of 9.925. She became just the third Tiger in program history and the first since 2008 to earn a 9.925 score. Arduino also posted the best season-average on balance beam in program history (9.820). She was named EAGL Rookie of the Week after she posting the 9.925 score at George Washington.
The Tigers tied for third place at the 2015 EAGL Championships when they hosted the postseason meet for the first time. McKellar was named the Tigers' MVP after finishing fourth on balance beam, fifth on uneven bars and sixth in the all-around with a score of 39.050.
Towson had 10 gymnasts named to the first and second All-Tournament Teams for their performance at the postseason meet last year. McKellar earned first team honors for three events (uneven bars, floor exercise, all-around) and second team for balance beam.

General admission tickets are available online, while youth/senior tickets are only available by calling the Panthers Ticket Office or at the door on the day of the event. Group rate tickets must be purchased in advance.
General admission seating for adults is $15, while youth/senior tickets are $10. Groups of 15 or more can purchase tickets at a rate of $5 per ticket.
